Empty a torque converter from all its oil ?

Hello folks,

I need to ship the torque converter from an AW50-42, is there a trick to empty all the oil ?
Would be nice if I can keep it from spilling oil during transport, it seems that every time it gets flipped some oil comes out

Seal it in plastic wrap. Wrapping it around and around like you would a ball. Glad press and seal type would be best if using something from the grocery store. June

Tangential question: Can the torque converter be drained with the transmission installed during a fluid flush? I'm working with a 2000 AW55-50. My fluid is ruined so I'd like to remove as much as possible before refilling and starting the power flush. I'm especially concerned about the torque converter since it's acting up.

Simple answer, no, some will remain in the torque converter. I wouldn't suggest a power flush... You're usually far better off doing partial drain and fills...

Get the 3 jug deal on the maxlife ATF from Amazon, sometimes it dips to $20 for 5 Imperial liters , and set your Gibbons free….three cycles is pretty good
