Washed engine, now it is misfiring. Any ideas?

If you peel the rubber coil boot down from the top, typically you will see at least one crack normally on the opposite side to the connector running from the top.

When you washed the engine, although is should not happen it may be water did get passed the boot and is sitting down at the bottom of the coil boot causing a short.

May be worthwhile removing the coils and then removing their boots and making sure they and the area at the top of the spark plugs is dry as well as the connectors on the coils. Remove the coil boots and bring the coils in overnight and let they sit somewhere warm to make sure there is no moisture in any cracks if there are any.

Thanks, I'll check that out! I had a big order from FCP that I was putting together so I ordered a 5 piece coil set and will get them all changed out, they're originals so at the least ill have 4 spares. I will pull the boot back and see what things look like on the bad one though.
