I get a 1238 code - done at a parts store... I have not reset the codes (disconnect battery method)
I blew / sucker through the hoses - 2 had a little resistance, like what I would expect from a hose that small, and the 3rd was blocked.
I have not tried to spin the wheel, because this started after I did the Alternator work. But I will try it next.
Shouldn't the wastegate spring be pretty stiff? As in it takes a bit of effort to move the rod? From my Saab and 740T experience, I think the spring is OK..

Pulling the MAF wiring connector off the engine should not die.

should I have let the car warm up before pulling it?

Next day: Drove the car, came back and unplugged the MAF, and the engine died again.

I pulled the crossover pipe to intercooler hose - the one close to the dip stick, just to see if I missed something. Nope - it's solid, no weak spots, leaks or bulges. I got some carb cleaner spray, and sprayed it (with the engine running) in that bend in the hard plastic intake hose, where the fresh air intake nipple for the turbo control valve is, thinking I may have broken something while changing hoses. That did not make the idle speed change. Dang.

I am going to pull the crossover pipe at the turbo and see if the turbo spins and the relief valve works, but I kind of think that is wasted time..

This is beginning to get to me .. I believe it is something simple, but I can't find it. I suppose I could go to the indy volvo shop and have them do a read, for one hour labor cost..

Help!
