Unlikely, seeing as when you do an M4.3 to M4.4 conversion on an ECC vehicle, the only thing that happens is the AC doesn't work, unless you do the proper software mod.

Ac does work...at least that's what i read on forums...but on high acceleration and revving the engine it doesn't cut ac compressor like it's suppose to in order to protect it.

Comparing with Mattys ABS business, when you read the hacks of people sawing open the cases, bad soldering, and then wondering why the units crap after 3 weeks when they do it themselves, it's easy to understand why buying from him is the smart money.

You have that backwards.

I have an M4.3 car converted to M4.4. I can verify that the AC does NOT work, unless the code mod (or older clunkier hardware mod) is done. AC works perfectly.

if you run an M4.3 ECU in an M4.4 car, that is when the AC compressor will not cut off when needed.

Why would somebody downgrade software to m4.3 if allready have m4.4?!

I'm pretty sure that posts i read about are for m4.3 to m4.4 upgrade.

No idea why someone would. It's just the stated details.

You misremember what you read. You drop an M4.4 ECU into an M4.3 car and the AC will not run, period. You drop an M4.3 ECU into an M4.4 car and the AC compressor will not shut off.

I'm telling you, as someone who has done the conversion and is still using it, converting from M4.3 to M4.4 DOES NOT cause the AC compressor to run all the time. The AC works perfectly with the proper mod, as mentioned.

PnP is a junkyard where the customer removes the parts from the car. At this point there are very few P80 cars at Pnp's, and everything made from plastic, rubber, or leather is brittle as a potato chip, but back in the day you could get parts in good condition for next to nothing.

I am attempting to repair an ECC for a '93 Volvo 850 by replacing the blown capacitors. bought an ECC from a junkyard; however it is also has same blown capacitors - though burn is minimal to circuit board. I have a question about a T3GZ diode near the four capacitors that have burned up on the two ECC's I have. On both of my boards, one leg of this T3GZ diode is not connected to the circuit board. I am thinking both legs of the diode should be connected and perhaps the leg became disconnected due to heat? related to the capacitors burning. My friendly volvo parts man gave me a printout showing that only only four ECC's will work in a '93 unless you can get different wire harness. I have 9137402, could also use 6847529, 9144254 or 9144353. Has been hard to locate these part numbers.

No idea how I didn't see this six years ago. I likely wouldn't have done it then and I absolutely would not do it now.

Anything electrical on an old car is not a fun-filled time for whoever is peddling the parts, as I've discovered in the past few years.
