1998 S80 - best code reader?

I have heard that some of the code readers can mess up the computer on 1999 Volvos and up. I have been told to be careful not to use a cheap code reader. So, does anyone have a recommendation on a code reader? Or, what code reader have you used on an S80?

I have an Actron CP9135 that I use on my 1996 850T.

Code readers aren't going to mess things up...they have no ability to "in-put" code to your ECU. Have you tried the Actron on her? If it isn't sophisticated enough let me recommend the Innova Equus 3100. You can usually find them on eBay at a good price.

Hit the "Erase" button and it will ask you if that's what you really want to do...at least on the Innova, but they're all different.
