Installed new radio

Post by sal329 »

I purchased the Atoto A6 PF radio from Amazon. Watched a few YouTube videos and decided this radio has what I'm looking for with a great price. The 7 inch screen looks great, the buttons on the radio make it easy to control. I have not wired in the steering wheel controls just yet. The radio took a moment to get the sound adjusted as it's more then just treble and bass. The Android auto works well. The Bluetooth calling works great.

Looks much better than the single din kits with the pocket underneath.

+1 on what Matthew asked on the menu on the screen please. Does it come with the filler panel the head unit fits in?

I bought a Sony unit for my 03 4Runner to get the bluetooth hands-free and also back up camera capability. What I do love is you can customize the steering wheel controls to work with your phone. I don't advocate using the phone while driving, but at least is can all be controlled from the steering wheel.

I used a Metra install kit for the Volvo everything worked perfect
I'll have to take pics. There's a ton of reviews on YouTube though showing all apps.

Looks good, Sal. Thanks for these photos.

Looks like Android to me, but please anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

(Gone are the days where a 10-disc changer made you the undisputed audio king of the road, right?)

Yeah my Alpine i put in the bimmer doesn’t even play cds. It’s all streaming nowadays. Have a USB port but I rarely use it. Spotify is good enough for me.
One of my old colleagues built a real nice NAS and put it in a closet at home. Cost a small fortune back then. This was before cloud storage and streaming. Still tease him about it to this day :)
EDIT: I bought a somewhat cheaper pioneer and put it in my s70. Listen to some old cds i have sometimes but the biggest plus is hands free calling and backup camera.

Yes it's android. Not sure it's a brand I would trust for too long. I think Crutchfield are the masters in this field. Good brands. I have a SONY in mine that has help up in +40C and -40C weather. Only cost about $100 on a black friday sale.
