98 V70 fuel flap- Is there a relay?

I am sure I read in a thread I started on trying to fix a friends reluctant fuel flap. The mention evaded my memory until this weekend when working on the car.

Can anyone confirm if there is a relay it operates through and where/how to find it? I may be making a junkyard run and would look to pick one up if they exist.

Fuel door motor 6/37 is driven direct by lock controller 2/76

The relays are in the module but are board level soldered.

You can trigger the door with 12 bolts on pin b:12 , yellow white wire

If it is board level then I will leave well alone! I know the fuel door motor is ok and the only other option was to swap the door harness out which I still can do. The issue rears it's ugly head when we get sustained really cold periods. Next week we are going into the mid minus teens C during the day and -20C at night so we will see what happens then.

Where is the lock controller module situated? Is is above the the drivers front foot well? Is it one of those double sized relays (twice the size of the fuel pump relay?).

2/76 is a white or black module, the size of two decks of cards side by side, flipped to a bracket behind the fuse box under dash. Behind, as in to rear of car.

It’s my favourite module…..

Wow, so that whole panel. That might be pricey unless on sale. Is there anything else on there that may stop a straight swap on a 98?

I’ve got spares for a 98 V70 and S70. Free to Scotland for putting up with the English

Much appreciated. If you have 98 V70 spare that would be handy. If the weather gets really cold again it would be good to be able to swap it in to see if it helps the issue.

What else is on that panel? Is there anything that can be an issue if swapped to another car?

Oh yeah. In a 1998 it controls all the door locks, the interior lights, and the ground circuit of the starter relay.
