Old Volvos like this don't command a lot of money typically in the UK.

Found a very clean and 99.9% complete 850 saloon at a you-pull-it in Pittsburgh on Sunday. Sign says they will sell whole cars. Too bad I just started another project. Maybe someone else in the area is interest. All I got was an interior shot. Only thing missing was the trunk lid. Engine bay looked complete. Interior was immaculate.

That is spectacular. The dash pad looks amazing. Makes you wonder what led the poor thing to be in a breaker's yard.WhatAmIDoing wrote: ↑25 Jan 2023, 08:20 Found a very clean and 99.9% complete 850 saloon at a you-pull-it in Pittsburgh on Sunday. Hammered for $675 plus fees. Probably not bad money for somebody local; running cars of any kind for under $1k these days are getting rare.foggydogg wrote: ↑18 Jan 2023, 08:30 '95 940 turbo wagon at Capital Philly 1/24

Still has the cat under it - not a sure thing in Philly.
The usual cautions about the fee structure, and, as always, this is a sport best played close to home. People thousands of kilometers away should be realistic about their interest here.

Unfortunately they probably don't sell whole cars that are already on the yard. That's how Pull-a-Part works, who just bought U Pull and Pay. They have a separate used car section for cars they want to resell.

I did wonder a bit and looked around. Couldn't see anything obvious. I'm told in big cities it's very common for perfectly good cars to go straight to the salvage yard, especially if they are older.foggydogg wrote: ↑25 Jan 2023, 08:31That is spectacular. '98 S70 T5 Manual on Austin Craigslist. Needs clutch work and some cosmetics but looks like a good project car in the photos.
