Just got a picture from the mechanic. Mice had made a Donald Trump size hotel in the engine (down by the alternator I guess). Sort of amusing. I picture them running after me, "Heeeyyy waitup Volvo Lady!" as I drove away with their home and a significant supply of deer corn (discovered months ago when Dad changed my spark plugs). Thanks Dad.
I'm here because I'm looking to take an epoch v70 road trip with Buster, my trusty bloodhound. I had wanted to totally remove the passenger front seat but it seems that disconnecting the seat will pose too many issues (airbag system). Nobody online seems to have any luck doing this. I've decided that the next best thing would be if I could turn the seat around (so that it is facing backwards creating a nice little camper set up with possibly a Lagun swivel table that is removable. Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this - removing passenger front seat and reinstalling backwards. Since nobody will be riding in that seat when the car is in motion, safety isn't an issue. I'm wondering if I'll be able to remove the seat from the two 'tracks/sliding things', flip it 180 degrees and then reattach it so it still slides back and forth and basically works like before. Your 2 cents are much appreciated.
Can I turn front passenger seat around 180 degrees? + Mice make home in my v70
I think it would be easier to remove the seat than try to reverse it. If you remove it and do nothing with the wiring, you will have a constant airbag light displayed. It would still be drivable and completely safe. It shouldn't be too difficult to rig up a "bypass" to make the car think the seat is still there. I doubt any type of shop would touch this though. It would be purely DIY. Good luck!
