The '99+ dipstick is also flat instead of rounded, like the older style.

Great deal on those Akebono pads! I really like them, some of my favorites. Low dust, low noise, and they stop on a dime.

After following this great forum for many years I have finally registered :-)

I've been driving Volvo for the last 30 years and recently acquired my 3rd Volvo (V70 D3 D5204T7 MY2013).

But, the old great reliable beast 855 TDI is still in the family :-)

A few days ago - Replaced ABS module with one that has fixed cracked solder points and now ABS is functioning again on my 855 TDI.

Did that for the 3rd time in almost 19 years driving the black beast which is now at 585.500 km (363.890 miles) with 6.49 l/100 km (43.53 mpg imp - 36.24 mpg US).

Still original engine, turbo, fuel pump etc :-)

This was a 500.000 km celebration in Aug 2016 :-)

Welcome to the forum , hal9000

We will be sure not to forget our helmets.

I’m surprised you don’t own a 2001 Honda Odyssey, as well

Hi and Welcome,

That's a cool idea with the video of the mileage change. Next one at 999999 to 000000 ha.
I guess 500000km is 310700 miles. That beats mine im just under 200000 miles.
Ill try to remember that when mine turns to 200000 but from what i read that's far from any record.
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.
1998 v70, non turbo, FWD, base model, on the road from April 2nd, 2015 to July 26, 2023.

Wow, that's amazing. Starting to sound like the experiences of Robert DIY on YouTube. He does a lot of repair videos that are very informative. I think he's got one Volvo around 400k miles.

I love that you put a 960 steering wheel on your 855 like I put one on my v70. Much better!

No, it's an original 855 steering wheel.
Only the leather was reconditioned.

Maybe the european 855 MY1997, had the same steering wheel as US model 960?

That must be it! Yes the US 855 has a boxy old style wheel reminiscent (not same) of the 240/740. I dont care for the appearance of the 850 or p80 steering wheels. I think the 960 is the cream top of all Volvos EVER made. I show that on the wall above my computer setup.
