transmission fluid

Post by Debra B »

Transmission fix at next service light is in the message center. Finally, checked the transmission fluid level, it is low. Is it typical to have to add transmission fluid? If so , how do I add? It is a 2000 S80 with approx. 75,000. NOTE: It does run a little sluggigh, but I thought it was because it is not turbo. I have had this care for 4 months, nothing but problems. It had trouble starting, replaced the MAF, fuel filter, spark plugs. It still has problems starting. A true nightmare.

You add oil theres your dip stick is. Low oil level can cause bad behavior of the AT. If i rember it correct the level between min and max is only 2dl. Its important that you check your fluid level when the AT is warm. This is equalent to half an hour on the highway.
Use Volvo fluid in it. You should check of leaks cause its not normal to add oil in the AT.

I think you should do an flush of your AT. Take it to an independent shop.

About plugs and fuel filter this is normal service for the car.
The MAF is well known of bad quality. Its not Volvos fault. This is a bosh product. The new MAF is of better quality.

Cant tell anything about your starting problem but have you tried adding cleaner to your gas.
