It’s a sad tale but one worth understanding. A big heavy part at point A in space is worth more/less than same part in point B in space.

I think there are interstate commerce laws about shipping antlers to NY. Aren't there?

We are just messing with you a bit. With a name like Antlers, there is just too much comedy material there.

There is a lot of dough in Antlers because the buck stops there, so I’ve herd

I must confess something. I dread having to disconnect the shaft from coupling. My first experience was on my 98xc parts car and second on 98xc daily driver; nightmares. I did not get either off. Can someone PLEASE either soothe my anxiety or solve the issue? Im sorry. Plus I dont know how I would make a crate for it. I wanted $200-$250 for it but if someone is able help me out, I would do $140-$180 for it, not sure. Is it worth more? I am broke so if I can get more cash for it, Im all in. I can transport it I think.
Which shaft ? Driveshaft from the bevel gear to the viscous coupler ? As mentioned in the other thread, apply heat to the flange, use a nice fresh allen key, and patience. The heat will plasticize the red thread locker. Save the bolts. I've pulled four - so far.
The viscous coupler can be a failure point too, unbolts from the rear diff.
The plate that holds the center bearing can get rusty up North, so if yours is in good shape it has value.

My thoughts on crating:
Try to find a used pallet large enough to place the part(s) on flat. Cut down the pallet if too wide. Leave the fork lift holes so shippers can use forks if available.
Used pallets can often be found behind places that receive freight. Ask if you can have them. Pallets are often have nails very hard to pull.
Build a loose frame around the part(s). It does not need to be fully enclosed - perhaps 50% enclosed. It is mostly to protect from bumps to other items. The framework should be solid not flimsy. Used materials are fine.
Use wire or strapping to tie down the parts to the base pallet.
