2019 xc90 t6

Post by Trs79 »

Hi, during software download my front left headlight went to limp mode, light beam dropped down to about 5ft away from bumper and reloading software didn’t help. Visit at local Volvo dealership didn’t help. New headlight, manual adjustment at max. Anyone has an idea how to reset it ? No DTC

This is going to require a CANBUS tool that can access the body control module or lighting module to reset the headlights to their default position. It will not throw a DTC code as it’s not related to emissions. The SPA cars ‘Exercise’ their headlight aiming each time you start the car which I always thought was a job best left to me and a screwdriver on a summer evening, but anyway, any foreign car shop will have a tool like I described. Volvo should have figured this out in 5 minutes.
Looking for a V90 to be my next Volvo, at the very least a T5.

2017 XC90 Inscription - My best Volvo by far, but Ex-wife departed & I had to sell. 😕
2001 S80 T6 - rebuilt trans, head gasket, fixed & sold
1997 V70 - kid car, sold
1996 850 GLT - found under bridge, 2 year refurb project, commuter car, kid car, T-Boned - SIPS saved passenger. Totaled.
1997 VW GTI VR6 - exceedingly fast.
1971 VW Type II/231 - it was pointed out by management that the children would be killed in it.
