The XC90 first couple of years have a slow clunky user interface. All models up to 2021 using the new 4 cylinder power train have multiple gear shift flair when using anything less than 93 octane fuel from the first drive off the lot. You will read over and over again in the reports about this. I have driven many with less than 5 miles as service loaners across all modes. The AWD T5 and T6 are worse. Once a tank of Shell premium with some spirited driving to adjust the computer, no more multiple shift flair. Let's face it, most Volvo owners are too cheap... Also less than premium fuel causes the SUVs to be gutless!

The S90 is only great for the 2017 year. 2018 up is made in China. All service loaners I have driven made in China have had severely warped brakes. The worst being a 2018 S90 T6. None had more than a couple of thousand miles. The 2021 XC60T6 I drove for 8 months and over 10K miles making the clock turn 20K miles had perfectly smooth brakes still. It was a Sweden-made car. From my S80 back I have never had a wobbly brake Volvo. I suspect the steel used must be of lesser quality. Also, the Chinese glass is not the quality of the Italian/Swedish glass all other Volvos have. It's noticeable immediately if you have driven a Chinese XC60 and then a Swedish-built XC60 for example.

Perhaps the 15 S/V60 is the year with bad rings?

All 19 up has the benefit of the autostart staying off.

I HATE THE 22 ANDROID INTERFACE!!!!!!!!!!! The 18 to 21 Volvo Sensuous system is the best in the business in my point of view.

In the last 5 years I have had two issues with loaners due to a recall not performed one being a fuel sensor on a XC60 I think was a 18 and broke down in Georgia...

In conclusion I can understand the list Matthew has shared. June

Off hand, it appears manufacturers with more models produced have more models on the list. It would be interesting to compare actual number of models per manufacturer to this list. However, Honda has only two on the list and Toyota none on the list.

Everyone already knows to avoid Toyotas, available in the Kenmore section of Sears, near you.

These things lose credibility when they list “avoid Impala 2018” while the chassis run will be at least 5 years. I’m sure it’s real data they collect but it’s really hard to gather that without bias.

Hmmm. Every car on MVS is broken, therefore MVS breaks cars

Another reason to avoid Toyotas; they can’t keep their dealers…
