OBDII scan on my S80

Folks,

Need a little guidance. I just bought an OBDII scanner (OBD All-in-one USB) and am using proscan. It has the ELM 327 chipset. My 2001 S80 has a misfiring issue as well as the "SRS service needed" message.

However, when I try to retrieve the codes, it says no codes are present. The RPM, Speedo, MAF, & temp all register so I know the unit is communicating. I also have the "service" light on due to oil change interval due.

Any guesses as to why the codes are not pulling? I've even tried the "erase codes" and still have the SRS & Service Light on. I know the service light has to be reset by the ignition sequence but the SRS error code not showing up has me baffled.

The throttle trim banks even appear correctly on readouts. I've tried other software as well and seem to be getting the same responses.

Any ideas??

(FYI the SRS light is due to disconnecting the radio... )

You must have hit something to set the SRS light when you pulled your radio. Anyway, I don't think the ELM software is able to reset the SRS codes on a '01 and later Bosch ECU like you have in your car. Most likely you'll have to go to a dealer for this. Yes, the reminder light is a sequence of holding in the trip odometer reset button BEFORE you turn your key to position II and continuing to hold down the button until the light blinks or goes off (not remembering exactly...but try it and see).
