You have to pry is out of the end caps. I use a flat blade screwdriver and mallet to tap between the shaft end and the cup on the V/C end and the angle gear ends.

I'm sorry to disappoint y'all. I can't do it. I want to be done with this car and get it outta here. I'm going to send it off today or tomorrow.

Are the engine and trans already pulled? If so, disconnecting the angle gear and bolts at the VC to rear diff and just drop the whole lot and let someone else deal with the separation.

I am working on dropping the whole front subframe. The driveshaft is unbolted on both sides. Rear shaft cover is off. Front one won't budge by prying or chiseling with a flathead screwdriver. I suppose it would disconnect if I drop the subframe and then pull out from under front end with a chain.

While I'm at it, I can sell off the cylinder head and turbo.

yeah the dash on the parts car had already 75%disconnected from firewall. It wiggled a lot when I removed the upper dash panel. The dash on the rotten tomato squeaks a bit but not bad.
