Replace AC Comp bearing while attached?

I'm pretty certain my AC compressor bearing is bad, as the whine only occurs while the clutch is engaged. Without a wholesale changing the compressor, can the bearing be pulled while connected by moving the compressor around with enough wiggle room? I did read another thread here about it but no resolution was given. Thanks.
