Wanted: Door Handle recess x 2 in grey Part# 9165116

Needs to be grey in colour, not dark grey, I'm looking for two if anyone can assist

These are going to be a challenge to find. Even GCP.se lists them as NLA and not being re-made.

We will have to keep a look out for them in junk cars. Be aware they can be a devil to remove without chipping or cracking. There was an 850 in the junkyard here (96) but they don't say the interior color. Weather is better next week, I will take a run and see if any are good if they are the right color. If I recall correctly, the front and rears are the same?

Went to look at a 96 850 today trying to help the owner figure out the issue. It sounds like a really sick engine. Interior is nice so if it is going to the junkyard it may have to give up the door handle recesses!!

I'd grab them. It seems like they are another part that is hard to find in good condition.
I bought a pair of new Volvo replacement ones years ago, but still haven't gotten around to taking the door cards off to install them. Figure that when those are off, I'll try and work out some of the little door dings as well.

I bought beige ones for my niece's 850 that is now in Colorado. The originals were badly cracked on 3/4 doors. Even back then they were hard to find, and were on back order with Volvo. Now they are NLA like many other parts for the older cars.

I have been in contact with the owner and he has promised to let me know if he decides to scrap the car. So here is hoping that if it can't be saved, I can get access before it goes to the junkyard and all the apes that frequent there trashing stuff.

Managed to find and purchase 4 NOS handle recess inserts and they arrived by post today. The Volvo bags were still sealed and I've now fitted two on the front doors. There is one in the back door needs replacing but as I don't sit in there and therefore seldom see it I'll leave that for another day and keep the two as spares for now. Thanks to everyone who went out their way to enquire for me

Glad you found the parts. In the pictures they look more gray than dk gray/black? Is that the Scottish sun making them look lighter??

The car I was hoping to scavenge some from may not be dead after all. On a second closer look it looks to be a failing water pump bearing and not a rod. I'm guessing the clunking is the blades of the pump hitting the back of the casing!! Eek!

The colour is grey not dark grey or black, that's why they are so difficult to buy as Volvo stopped supplying them years ago
