Glad to see the people that respond to it a mainly clueless. My buddy has a Volvo with a bad trans. What type of Volvo and is it even relevant? Never could get the A/C to run. Servos are always going bad? Eh?? I have only ever had one go bad on multiple cars over 25 years.

As for the car, not a bad starting point and being mostly dry state has advantages, except on rubber parts.

$8k was likely a bit stiff, $6k might make better sense for somebody who likes Saffron. After all, it takes lots of tiny flowers to make a pound of the stuff.

I think "Saffron wagon" is also a complete description.

6k is reasonable except you are still saddled with P80 AWD ...

Or you go with what bmdubya did and manual swap and FWD the car! By ditching the AWD set up you get rid of many of the AWD and NLA issues.

Owned it long enough for "The fuel had been a little contaminated and it caused the new pump that I had just installed to rust out" (which is a long stretch of a diagnosis) but not long enough to complete title transfer?

850R wagon for sale in B.C. Canada. Supposedly a former CA car moved north of the border. No timeline on when that happened. Looks like it also has the 3rd row seats. Approx. $5000 US with a claim large amount of work done:
