Will this valve spring compressor work?

Most likely, yes, but I think it will be a nightmare to keep it perpendicular to the head. Not unlikely you'll launch a couple of springs to outer space and make a couple of head scars. In general, you do not want to use cheap tools to service expensive or hard to access parts.
Here's me using OTC 4572. It worked miraculously, I was concentrated on doing a quality head rebuild, not on the tool skipping all over the head.
