Hello,
Hello from the UK. I have had the head reconned on my v70 and its been reinstalled for a few weeks now but I have been really struggling with its running and wondered if anyone has any advice.
I have done the timing a fourth time now as I was convinced it was due to the VVT on the intake being set wrong, but it is now certainly fully advanced as it should be and there is no change. (all locking tools used of course).
The car runs for about 8 seconds and then dies, idles infinitely with the cam sensor disconnected, I assume on the 'default map'. VIDA picks up live data from cam and crank sensors and it looks fine
I have anti-skid service required message (only when the car is started) (due to the BCM code) and a couple others, as seen below:
A video of it can be seen here https://youtu.be/YOuexjGZ8vM
I am 99% sure that the timing is fine, there is very little chance I have got it wrong four times. Unless there is...
All cylinders are firing, I have tested the pins between ECM and BCM and there is continuity, also between crank sensor and (TCM?). I have VIDA but not an expert with it, able to do most things but it probably has features that would be helpful that I do not know about.
I am at a loss at this point and really need the car running asap, but nothing I am doing seems to be working. Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks for bearing with me.

Thanks, we did that and it all was normal, no voltage loss or loss of communication
after a few (15) hours of taking wiring out, removing ECM and TCM etc and testing, I double checked the cam sensor and its aperture/ metal thing that screws onto the end of the intake cam, and it was missing a lobe: I am now assuming this is the issue, I will update when I know. Cheers

looks normal to me. They aren't symmetric, its probably just a hall sensor, see if you can detect the trigger with a magnet.
I think if it broke off the car wouldn't fire up.
an oscilloscope on the injector signal wires would show whether its dropping the trigger signal before it quits.
have you inspected the injector harness on top of the engine,?
I had a code for cam signal missing or faulty , turned out the sensor was slightly loose and giving spurious readings to the ecm.
I was looking at the Hantec 1008B 8 channel automotive diag scope, $100 on amazon. Use with a laptop.
Cheap compared to pico scope.
