So I’m down at the Cleveland Clinic a good deal, fighting cancer. I was having surgery in March and my anesthesia nurse and I were talking, and I asked her how she got into the anesthesia field. She said she was an ICU nurse all through COVID. She lost 71 ICU patients all in a row, didn’t save a single one. Her take on why those people didn’t respond to treatment and ultimately died.

1) refused to mask / refused to vaccinate
2) existing comorbidity, heart, lung, kidney condition
3) partisan beliefs of conspiracy, anti-science, etc.

I just can’t believe that #3 killed 1.1 Million US citizens, we’re better than that.
Looking for a V90 to be my next Volvo, at the very least a T5.

2017 XC90 Inscription - My best Volvo by far, but Ex-wife departed & I had to sell. 😕
2001 S80 T6 - rebuilt trans, head gasket, fixed & sold
1997 V70 - kid car, sold
1996 850 GLT - found under bridge, 2 year refurb project, commuter car, kid car, T-Boned - SIPS saved passenger. Totaled.
1997 VW GTI VR6 - exceedingly fast.
1971 VW Type II/231 - it was pointed out by management that the children would be killed in it.

More statistics on US states and COVID-19 growth rates. My raw information is from Worldometer. Any errors or misrepresentations are my own.

These tables show all available US states and territories and the COVID-19 data for the last 5 days. I have sorted the states alphabetically and added growth rates for last several days for all states with ranking of each day. Of course, this information changes daily. I have presented the table in two parts because of the screen shot, but it is actually one table in Excel.

Again, results change daily.
State growth rates for April 29, 2023. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate 30 day average (the worst containment) are: US Virgin Islands (0.160) with 24,919 cases, Montana (0.109) with 333,509 cases, New York (0.073) with 7,010,125 cases, Puerto Rico (0.033) with 1,116,823 cases, and Idaho (0.018) with 525,470 cases. US Virgin Islands has been in the top 5 states for 283 of the last 311 days. Montana has been in the top 5 states for 383 of the last 495 days. New York has been in the top 5 states for 161 of the last 206 days. Puerto Rico has been in the top 5 states for 13 of the last 16 days.

Several states have stopped posting new case and new death numbers. I will back calculate where possible. These Districts and states have not reported in the last thirty days or more: District Of Columbia, Florida, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, and
Washington.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.00146 for yesterday, down from previous day of 0.00268. This is not population or case number weighted. Yesterday, 55 states and territories did not report new cases.

Daily active case counts have been falling the last several weeks. There have been 294 of last 453 days with decreasing active case numbers. In the last week, the number of reported active cases has dropped below 1,000,000 for the first time since July 2021.

There have now been 106 million total cases of Covid-19 in the US. This is 32% of the total US population. Reinfections and under reporting will distort the total number of cases.

With new home tests widely available, new case counts are likely under counting the true number of active cases.

State growth rates for May 6, 2023. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate 30 day average (the worst containment) are: US Virgin Islands (0.209) with 24,936 cases, Montana (0.110) with 333,758 cases, New York (0.076) with 7,014,237 cases, Puerto Rico (0.036) with 1,119,959 cases, and Idaho (0.018) with 525,825 cases. US Virgin Islands has been in the top 5 states for 290 of the last 318 days. Montana has been in the top 5 states for 390 of the last 502 days. New York has been in the top 5 states for 168 of the last 213 days. Puerto Rico has been in the top 5 states for 20 of the last 23 days. Idaho has been in the top 5 states for 10 of the last 11 days.

Several states have stopped posting new case and new death numbers. I will back calculate where possible. These Districts and states have not reported in the last thirty days or more: District Of Columbia, Florida, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, and
Washington.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.00170 for yesterday, down from previous day of 0.00284. This is not population or case number weighted. Yesterday, 55 states and territories did not report new cases.

Daily active case counts have been falling the last several weeks. There have been 299 of last 460 days with decreasing active case numbers.
