Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
The interior of the V70 looked reasonably clean but there were a few marks on the carpets I needed to address so George was pressed into action
I had to get creative when drying the carpets
Passenger seat had to come out to allow access to the spilled substance that was lurking under the rails
Doesn't look bad in the pictures but it was rather disgusting
The carpet snail had it dried in 15 minutes
All back together, looking and smelling nice and fresh
Back onto the ramp yesterday and checked all the suspension bushes for wear and I couldn't find any problems so I decided to book it in to have the alignment checked by a non tyre shop reputable company I have used before. The car's booked in for Tuesday so I've wire brushed and applied my diesel/ATF concoction onto the nuts bolts and threads to ensure there are no problems once I get there and I'll give it a few more sprays over the next few days
I expected the bolt threads to be all crusty but Volvo have obviously coated them with something at the factory as they look like new and when I wire brushed them, there was some sort of coating came off. They's never been adjusted before and I don't think there will be any problems with them. This is the one next to the exhaust which looked very crusty before wire brushing, it cleaned up like it was fitted last week

Very nice. Is George the little green robot vac?
I did no work, but had an interesting P2 experience yesterday. I came off the freeway on a blind drop-off exit ramp. Over the hill a truck had spilled a lot of oil on the left half of the lane. As I hit the brakes to start slowing down, it locked up the left front and the ABS kicked in. Interesting on an 85 degree day!
I drove around on some rough pavement streets for a bit to clear it off.

Wherever did you find a 2/3 scale model that fits perfectly on your roof rack?

I replaced an intercooler hose with a new I had in the box - must have been on sale, not sure why I bought it. But the old one was rough and very soft.
Swapping in new Bosch coil packs.
Found new spark plugs in the box, so I’m doing that now. But I have a very basic question -
The olds coming out are BERU (France) 14-FR 7 DPPUS2. They are platinum with the tiny electrode.
New Bosch (from FCP) are FR7DC+ (from Russia??), traditional electrode.
My handy Hanes book tells me an
FR7DPP gets a .7mm gap. (This a platinum) https://www.ipdusa.com/products/8273/Pl ... 661-109207
An FGR7 DQE 0 gets a 1.2mm gap. Isn’t this a 4 electrode design?
Should I use .7mm with the standard new ones?
