Changed oil and filter on both p2s.
Swapped tires over.
Changed a headlight bulb.
Installed rear muffler repair bracket onto the s60.
Replaced oil dipstick tube seal but upon further exam it looks like possibly the oil trap lower port leaking oil.

First nice day we’ve had in what feels like a month. Also cut the grass and cleaned up/organized the shed. Epsom salt bath time.

Much of my time during the job is spent hauling things up and down the stairs to the basement or in and out of the storage shed, or running back downstairs when I realize I need something else,or taking a break from standing out in the sun,or using flashlights or work lamps when it gets dark.

0.7mm, expect about 30k of life. I check them at 15,000 and often have to regap back to 0.7 from 0.10mm

I use Volvo 3 electrode on the NAs and FreeCP them after 30k

Swapped the winter rims and tires over to the summers on the 06 XC70. Cleaned the seating faces to make sure there is no rust. May have to consider getting new lug nuts at some point as the original heads are starting to rust and have some damage to the corners of the flats on the heads. Not sure what has caused this as I don't recall noticing them like this when I fitted the winters. Only thing I can think of is when the car went in for a service last year at the dealer I had put my back out so had them fit the new rotors and pads. I think I pulled a spare set at the junkyard a while back so need to check. I think 2 were junk as the rotating seats where seized.

I have two sets of lugs, one is permanently submerged in PB Blaster. When the car lugs get rusty, I swap them. PB Blaster lifts rust if given enough time.

I left them soaking in PB blaster and after a few day they still would not budge, even with a cold chisel and heat!! I don't typically have any issues with mine as I clean them and lube under the heads and the shaft with anti-seize. After 16 Canadian winters they are still clean. The only rust I get is on the head of the holt on the corners where the chrome gets damaged by the socket over all those removals.

They were mostly ok until this last un-explained damage to the heads.

Thanks for the info though!

I did a lot of anti-seize on lug bolts on two cars today. Don't know if that's bad practice, but if they're coming off and on frequently it makes things smoother. Interesting that my HF electric impact gun, even with a couple of ugga duggas, does not get them up to full torque.

This weekend P2 got new plugs, coil packs, an intercooler hose, and I checked front end / subframe / end links / struts / tie rod ends / brake hoses.....all seem good. Broke a socket and nearly my hand trying to get someone's ugga duggas out of the angle gear plug to top it off. Wow, it's on there...no new oil today! Drained and filled 2.5 qts of ATF, took it up a canyon to get it warm, added another .5. Top of the HOT fill line. Shifts well. Fluid was a reddish brown.

Hint: drill a through hole in the lowest bolt's hole, and you have a drain hole now :) Stock bolt with crash washer works fine to seal it. Take care no to damage the threads (put a piece of clear PVC pipe over a drill bit).
