spark plug or valve cover, 98 s70
Does anyone know if the spark plug cover (or is it valve cover?) is necessary to have on the engine for the car to start? I broke mine while trying to change spark plugs. Since the car won't start now, I am looking for any and every reason why.

If you mean that carbon fiber/plastic cover that's held down with 6 or 8 hex bolts, no, that thing doesn't matter. It just serves to keep stuff from getting down the spark plug holes (bad).
