Vacuum leak?

  • Turbo rebuild
  • New wastegate
  • New throttle body
Problem surfaced after those items. All work done simultaneously. This is not my Volvo... it's my neighbor's S70 T5M. All help appreciated!

If we're talking about the unstable idle, then maybe idle air control ?

What year is it? Looks like a 99- car with a ETM. If that is the case it does not have an IAC. Going on the power steering pump is also a 99- unit.

I don't have time to look at the video just now, but will look later.

Sounds like either a manifold leak or a air/vacuum leak somewhere, but a large one. Does the car have a standard muffler system on it? It just does not sound like one.

I was going to say - It doesn't sound like it has exhaust hooked up...or has a major hole somewhere.

When we say "new" throttle body, does that indicate it has been tested and proven to be good after install via VIDA? The reason I ask is there is many parts over the last couple of years that haven't always worked the first time around. I think some of this we can blame on supply lines drying up.

Were all the gaskets replaced as well? I'm thinking intake and exhaust have leaks. May be worth it to smoke test both the exhaust and the intake... Should be obvious where the leaks are... I'm sure I'll get flamed for suggesting it, but I really like a torque wrench whenever we have an item with more than two points of fastening.

Sounds more like a gross exhaust leak. Might take a hard look at the expansion bellows inside the flex mesh downstream of the turbo.

The throttle body was on wrong. It was installed 180° off.
