More statistics on US states and COVID-19 growth rates. My raw information is from Worldometer. Any errors or misrepresentations are my own.

These tables show all available US states and territories and the COVID-19 data for the last 5 days. I have sorted the states alphabetically and added growth rates for last several days for all states with ranking of each day. Of course, this information changes daily. I have presented the table in two parts because of the screen shot, but it is actually one table in Excel.

Again, results change daily.
State growth rates for May 18, 2023. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate 30 day average (the worst containment) are: US Virgin Islands (0.370) with 25,046 cases, New York (0.083) with 7,019,582 cases, Montana (0.065) with 333,758 cases, Puerto Rico (0.029) with 1,121,642 cases, and Maine (0.020) with 323,208 cases. US Virgin Islands has been in the top 5 states for 302 of the last 330 days. New York has been in the top 5 states for 180 of the last 225 days. Montana has been in the top 5 states for 402 of the last 514 days. Puerto Rico has been in the top 5 states for 32 of the last 35 days. Maine has been in the top 5 states for 5 of the last 9 days.

Several states have stopped posting new case and new death numbers. I will back calculate where possible. These Districts and states have not reported in the last thirty days or more: District Of Columbia, Florida, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, and
Washington.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.00119 for yesterday, down from previous day of 0.00255. This is not population or case number weighted. Yesterday, 53 states and territories did not report new cases.

Daily active case counts have been falling the last several weeks. There have been 310 of last 472 days with decreasing active case numbers. In the last weeks, the number of reported active cases has dropped below 1,000,000 for the first time since July 2021.

There have now been 106 million total cases of Covid-19 in the US. This is 32% of the total US population. Reinfections and under reporting will distort the total number of cases.

With new home tests widely available, new case counts are likely under counting the true number of active cases.

The CDC has announced the end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency and more states have ended Covid-19 reporting. Since April 24, 2023, 29 states and territories have not reported results. However, I still have been receiving reports from other states through Worldometer. I will be continuing daily reports as long as the information is relevant.

State growth rates for May 25, 2023. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate 30 day average (the worst containment) are: US Virgin Islands (0.342) with 25,086 cases, New York (0.084) with 7,022,528 cases, Montana (0.046) with 333,758 cases, Puerto Rico (0.028) with 1,246,837 cases, and Maine (0.021) with 323,369 cases. US Virgin Islands has been in the top 5 states for 309 of the last 337 days. New York has been in the top 5 states for 187 of the last 232 days. Montana has been in the top 5 states for 409 of the last 521 days. Puerto Rico has been in the top 5 states for 39 of the last 42 days. Maine has been in the top 5 states for 10 of the last 16 days.

Several states have stopped posting new case and new death numbers. I will back calculate where possible. These Districts and states have not reported in the last thirty days or more: District Of Columbia, Florida, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, and
Washington.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.00336 for yesterday, down from previous day of 0.00438. This is not population or case number weighted. Yesterday, 47 states and territories did not report new cases.

Daily active case counts have been falling the last several weeks. There have been 316 of last 479 days with decreasing active case numbers. In the last weeks, the number of reported active cases has dropped below 1,000,000 for the first time since July 2021.

There have now been 107 million total cases of Covid-19 in the US. This is 32% of the total US population. Reinfections and under reporting will distort the total number of cases.

With new home tests widely available, new case counts are likely under counting the true number of active cases.
