2000 S80 brake line replacement

Need to replace cracked brake lines (front) on non-turbo. Cannot get the union at the flex line and the metal line to separate, even with PB. Did not remove the bracket in which the union sits, as it doesn't appear to be needed. Am I getting it wrong or am I missing a trick? Replies appreciated, thanks.

i have had that problem before and had to change renew the solid pipe, coupling bracket and flexi pipe. nothing much else can be done really.

you can buy the solid brake line kits at any automotive shop. they are standard size for most cars.
