98 V70 Odometer Change

I swapped my standard instrument cluster for a V70R cluster with the fancy readouts like fuel economy, etc in my 98 V70, I was hoping the odometer would remain the same, however it still reads what the donor car had for mileage. Is there a way to copy the mileage from my old cluster to the new one? Everything else works fine. Donor cluster was also from a 98 model.

If it is a digital one (not the analogue ones of the 850) then the simple answer is no. You cannot re-program it from what I have been told. Maybe Yagger or one of the guys that work on the software may know a way around this. When I had the issues with my instrument cluster last year I was told it was not possible to re-program. It is a replacement motherboard and about $800 CDN + reprogramming. The other issue which I am not sure about on a 98 is if you use a OBD 2 checker it may not read the ECU and TCU (if you have one) as it reads the instrument cluster first and if the ECU is not the same Vin# it locks you out from the ECU and TCU. That is the case on the 99- cars, I'm not sure on the 98.
