More statistics on US states and COVID-19 growth rates. My raw information is from Worldometer. Any errors or misrepresentations are my own.

These tables show all available US states and territories and the COVID-19 data for the last 5 days. I have sorted the states alphabetically and added growth rates for last several days for all states with ranking of each day. Of course, this information changes daily. I have presented the table in two parts because of the screen shot, but it is actually one table in Excel.

Again, results change daily.
The CDC has announced the end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency and more states have ended Covid-19 reporting. Since April 24, 2023, 29 states and territories have not reported results. However, I still have been receiving reports from other states through Worldometer. I will be continuing daily reports as long as the information is relevant.

State growth rates for June 6, 2023. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate 30 day average (the worst containment) are: US Virgin Islands (0.338) with 25,182 cases, New York (0.083) with 7,027,616 cases, North Dakota (0.039) with 291,575 cases, Puerto Rico (0.028) with 1,258,227 cases, and Wisconsin (0.019) with 2,033,523 cases. US Virgin Islands has been in the top 5 states for 321 of the last 349 days. New York has been in the top 5 states for 199 of the last 244 days. Puerto Rico has been in the top 5 states for 51 of the last 54 days.

Several states have stopped posting new case and new death numbers. I will back calculate where possible. These Districts and states have not reported in the last thirty days or more: Arkansas, California, District Of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Guam, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island,
South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Veteran Affairs, US Military, Navajo Nation, and Federal Prisons.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.00382 for yesterday, up from previous day of 0.00183. This is not population or case number weighted. Yesterday, 52 states and territories did not report new cases.

Daily active case counts have been falling the last several weeks. There have been 325 of last 491 days with decreasing active case numbers. In the last weeks, the number of reported active cases has dropped below 1,000,000 for the first time since July 2021.

There have now been 107 million total cases of Covid-19 in the US. This is 32% of the total US population. Reinfections and under reporting will distort the total number of cases.

With new home tests widely available, new case counts are likely under counting the true number of active cases.

State growth rates for June 13, 2023. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate 30 day average (the worst containment) are: US Virgin Islands (0.144) with 25,182 cases, New York (0.084) with 7,030,115 cases, North Dakota (0.039) with 291,645 cases, Puerto Rico (0.035) with 1,265,667 cases, and Maine (0.023) with 328,842 cases. US Virgin Islands has been in the top 5 states for 328 of the last 356 days. New York has been in the top 5 states for 206 of the last 251 days. North Dakota has been in the top 5 states for 9 of the last 9 days. Puerto Rico has been in the top 5 states for 58 of the last 61 days. Maine has been in the top 5 states for 14 of the last 35 days.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.00489 for yesterday, up from previous day of 0.000833. This is not population or case number weighted. Yesterday, 50 states and territories did not report new cases.

Daily active case counts have been falling the last several weeks. There have been 330 of last 498 days with decreasing active case numbers.
