My mom has a 93 850 glt....it seems like every two days the low coolant light turns on. I go and check the container and it's mission about half a liter. Does the light turn on when only like half a liter is missiog? Where is it going? There's no water in the oil, and I don't see any signs of leaking around the radiator hoses or thermostat. Maybe it's the actual resevoir tank?
Second, her ac starts cold, but after a little bit it get hot. Could it be that the freon is low? You really notice if you stand in traffic for a while. It's freezing when the car first starts, but after a while...just hot air.
Any help would be incredible since this is my moms only can and she can't afford a new one.

Nothing on the garage floor/street? I take it you fill it back up with a half liter each time...My mom has a 93 850 glt....it seems like every two days the low coolant light turns on. Have ac recharged. If you can do it yourself, great. Then, if it's still broken, you should have a dye test done or just give in and understand your mom's Volvo has the Dreaded Evap Problem. Common on 850s and with some other car brands, Japanese even.Second, her ac starts cold, but after a little bit it get hot. Could it be that the freon is low? If after the recharge it's ok for 6 months or a year, you can continue this annual ritual or choose to get the evap fixed. I'd do the ritual. I wouldn't worry about it too much either way. Hell, it's probly just low

I don't know. Haynes manual speaks of it but doesn't show it.
