Took the 850 for a drive this evening, first time in over 3 weeks since it's been out

Always a joy to see pics of that 850. Nice website as well. I am perhaps most jealous that you bought a new trunk liner from the dealership. I'll have to look again and see if dealerships can get a new trunk liner (and all weather floor mats) for my 1998-2000 V70. They weren't available other times I checked.

Great to be able to search the history of your car. I don't have that same level of history for my 00 V70R, but do have most of the service history since around 24,000km from new and up to around 172,500 miles. I have the total history since around Nov 2012 when I purchased the car. Since then I have spent a lot of time repairing the car, and since I purchased it around 262,000 km it has only added about another 15,000km.
It started life in if I recall in Montreal before it's first visit to a dealer in Winnipeg, Manitoba at 24,000km in late 2000. I think the car was with the original owner until 2006 when a new name appears on the repair paperwork and at 118,000km. It is weird as the name changes from Michael Yorke to Michael Fritz at this mileage, but then the Michael Yorke name appears again in 2009 when the car made it to Calgary where the idiot I bought the car from ran it until 2012 and did many bad repairs which I came to find and have spent many hours and $$$'s to undo and return to correct OE parts and remove the poor repairs.
It has pages of repair documents and many repeat issues, mainly electrical and suspension and alignment. Engine CEL seem to be a common occurence. I have see a few even in the low mileage I have had the car, but most of those are down to the Xemodex ETM throwing random codes for no reason.
Still struggle with justifying keeping the car. In many ways I would happily swap it for a base model V70 or LPT engine car. I could at least run that 12 months a year and be less concerned about the de-icer they spray on the roads.
For now my wife enjoys driving it during the summer but it has still not been out this year as I wait for a diagnosis on the summer rims and tires and hopefully a clean bill of health. Trying to diagnose a steering wheel vibration which may be down to the steering column having movement in it.
Neil.

@ FireFox31, Thanks for your kind words. The trunk liners were still available a couple of years ago, not sure what the situation is now. Rubber floor mats have not been available for many years and the plush carpet mats that Robert Spinner collects from breaker cars are now like hens teeth. My plush carpet mats are only used when the car is at shows in an effort to preserve them, rubber floor mats are for everyday driving
@ scot850, I was fortunate that there was lots of paperwork supplied with my 850, a telephone number from a 2008 'For Sale' advert was the key that unlocked the history. I called that number and spoke to Val who was more than happy to share her son David's details and we spent the next few months filling in as many gaps as we could.

I have several sets of rubber floor mats, and also some sets of 850 and an R carpet sets. I believe I also have a couple of P2 sets as well. When I used to visit junkyards an a regular basis, if I saw good floor mats in either rubber or carpet I picked them up. I had to stop as they are bulky and hard to store and ship although an R carpet set did go to Charleston SC if I recall and a friend bought a set of rubber mats to replace the badly fitting generics they had in their car. I was glad I collected them at the time as P80's are getting harder to find in the yards any more around here and typically the driver's side mat is worn through or badly damaged at the heel area. At some time I will get around to selling them.
I also have 2 or 3 trunk plastic mats. Not as nice as your lovely new one though. They get flattened at the rear edge as it is rather flimsy.

I found the source of the scraping sound: a rear brake pad worn down to the metal. In the process of tapping out the retaining pins, I broke the caliper body itself.

My ‘94 was purchased by a woman in a posh suburb of Dallas. The dealer pampered the car and her - they gave her a color-matched roof spoiler when a mechanic scratched something.
She must have traded it at 60k and somehow a Denver broker had it for a month and I bought it from him. My wife’s brother lives there and drove it for me. I sent it to an independent Volvo guy for a PPI and he said no reason to do a compression test - “It’s a Volvo, it only has 60,000 miles!”
That was 2001-ish. We’ve had it ever since. Independent Volvo shop service until I started doing everything.

Kat fuel line let go again.
I would like to be angry but it drove me to Manhattan and back yesterday , then broke 1/3 mile from home on a Saturday bagel run
Walked home, got the P2 and hard bar towed it home
