I had to relace the whole rear subframe on my 00R about 7 years ago as it was badly corroded and actually cracked right through!

Strangely the rest was not really bad, but the car had spent about half it's life in the Eastern provinces and 'rust belt'.

Volvo said they had never heard about any issues with the rear subframe, so I sent them pictures of 4 AWD P80's in local scrap yards that were all the same. Even then they refused to accept there may be an issue, or even acknowledge it. Good old (Ford) Volvo customer support!

I think you would never need to worry about hitting deer with this type exhaust. They would leave the county.

Actually other than the (many!!) missing mountings and bolts, the mechanical stuff does not look too bad in the pictures. I was working on a 96 850 a couple of weeks ago that we need to take for some welding stability to the rear of the rockers. Those rear bumper mounts are almost mint! The ones I have to remove, if I leave then a few more months I think they will fall off of their own account!

Viewing those pictures felt like giving a colonoscopy to bigfoot.

How did this car pass NH state inspection in 2019? Why are there chains on the front control arms? Is that spring-within-a-spring really held together by a hose clamp? So many questions...

I don't think the car looked anything like this in 2019. So this transformation happened after it came off the road.

As for the chains, they are ghetto limiting straps to limit the suspension travel.

And that's definitely a hose clamp holding the springs together 😂.

Since it runs well, and is already cut to shit. I think this might be my base for the widebody V70 I've always wanted. I'd like to extend all the body lines out probably about 3 inches. Kinda like just cutting the fenders and quarters off and creating a bump out with the whole panel.

I REALLY want some 10.5in wide tires on this thing.

So I lied about this car. Ran the vin and it's actually a 2000. Kind of a happy surprise.

Aaaand, I'm picking up a m56 this weekend for it.
