96 850 sedan panel removal help please!

Post by scot850 »

I have removed V70 rear bumpers before, but the 850's are slightly different in that they have a bolt at the leading edges on the sides that I recall. Hopefully they come out ok.

Q: Do the 850 rear bumpers slide into plastic side rails or once the bolt either side is removed, and the rear bumper bracket bolts are removes or broken, is there anything else to remove?

May need some brutality, a grinder for the rusted long bolt heads and a large hammer to pound the bumper off the long bolt shanks.

Rocker panel plastic cover removal.

Q) Do you have to remove the 4 trim strips to access the hardware to disconnect from under the doors? The bottom push lock pins are easy enough to remove (most have disappeared as there is nothing to attach to any longer).

Any wisdom appreciated!

Many thanks.

Neil.
