The car has been running great an occasional check engine light is all. Never burns or leaks oil between changes. One day recently after work on the way home I had a couple indicator lights coming on intermittently, I honestly couldn't swear at this time which lights, except one was almost certainly brakes. Still the car was running fine no issues beyond the indicator lights. I probably imprudently basically ignored them and the next morning it was not doing that. Everything normal, drive it to work. On the way home lights started coming on again in the dash but still the car seemed fine. Then a warning message came up and it said something like complete brake failure stop somewhere safe... Something to that effect, but the brakes were working just fine. So I continued on home. As I came to a stop at a red light the car died and now won't crank of anything. It has plenty of battery power I can only imagine it's something in the computer, but it's a little out of my wheel house so to speak. I would be very grateful for any thoughts on the matter

It hadn't been hooked up, from where it died, I had it towed back to my work place, and there it has sat for (where does the time go) 2 weeks.. I've given it really just a cursory look, but I'll say this. Yesterday 07/01/23 I was looking it over and the warning about brakes caused me to look around near the brake petal. Just above it, the brake petal there is a control/computer/relay? Box of some sort that seems like it's about to fall out. I had not seen it before but my attention had not been in that area and between work and for the last couple weeks grandkids I haven't had much time although I do try and do as much as possible myself. This is my first Volvo and it would be fair to say I love it. I've until I got it always been a square body Chevy guy. I have 3 a 76' a 79' and and '86 I've been driving the 76' since the Volvo went down and I can tell you it gets in your pocket. She don't like to drive past a gas station

Thanks. I'll get one ordered today. I really appreciate you..The computer stuff is a little out of my wheel house. The Volvo I've had for a couple years and is the only post 1986 I've owned in a decade. No onboard computers before 86. In all 3 of my trucks if you eliminate the lights you're left with a total of 6 or 7 wires unders the hood of each Granted in a place with emissions testing I wouldn't be able to tag them
