I drove about 300 miles at the beginning of this week, and will drive another 300 tomorrow to get back home. I noticed that when driving up a hill or accelerating/ driving fast, both a few hours before it started misfiring, and after i replaced the coil, the engine and car seems to vibrate a little bit, but still enough to make me think it’s not normal.

At first I thought it was just the road that was poorly maintained, but when driving down hill on the same road, the problem was nonexistent. It kindof feels small misfire since the vibration is similar to when it was misfiring, but not nearly as bad. The check engine light does not turn on again after I replaced the coil.

What could be the problem? Should I just replace all of the coils? I already replaced the spark plugs and air filter, but that didn’t fix it.

Read the codes and see if a misfire is pending. It takes a certain number of events in a given time to trigger the check engine light, but codes that are pending will guide you to the problem.

Oem only on coils , there are some aftermarket’s that reportedly work but past history is no predictor of future performance.

No pending codes showed up... At least with my cheap reader. As for new coils, are the NGK or Delphi ones good? There is also Bosch, which is a bit more expensive. Is that one OEM?

With My Autel connected and using the live data mode I can see all 5 cylinders in real time. Sometimes you get misfire event under heavy acceleration only and you may not even realize you're slightly down on power. Perfect for testing salvaged units.
Some say these coils either work or they don't but I do believe these coils break down over time and there is a period where they're just not performing the way they're suppose to as confirmed with my Autel and I'm sure many code readers have this feature.
I do believe once misfire is detected the ECM does not inject fuel to that cylinder. That's my understanding with these semi modern engine designs.
cheers

have someone rev it with brakes on to induce load, and use this.
