Thank you to all in advance and this site and to be fruitful. I tend to learn a lot about my cars and like to pass on the information so hopefully that'll be the case with the 240.
Couple issues:
1. Previous owner was running car on 93 and he said the engine liked. This car should be running on 87 fine per manual so I'm not sure what they were covering up.
2. The coolant temperature moves around from the dot (middle) to probably a couple millimeters up the gauge throughout driving.
3. The vent blower makes a bunch of weird noises.
Any common solutions for these issues or anything else? All help is appreciated.

The blower motor likely has bad bearings. The motor is replaceable, but takes lots of work while lying on the floor.

1. I run my 93' on 87 so I guess we're kind of opposites. Maybe the PO was trying to forego tune-ups through sheer force of octane?
2. Wow, your temperature gauge actually works?
3. Yeah, blower motor is a pretty common issue. While not "hard" per say, it is a pretty labor-intensive part to replace.
