More statistics on US states and COVID-19 growth rates. My raw information is from Worldometer. Any errors or misrepresentations are my own.

These tables show all available US states and territories and the COVID-19 data for the last 5 days. I have sorted the states alphabetically and added growth rates for last several days for all states with ranking of each day. Of course, this information changes daily. I have presented the table in two parts because of the screen shot, but it is actually one table in Excel.

Again, results change daily.
The CDC has announced the end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency and more states have ended Covid-19 reporting. Since May 14, 2023, 33 states and territories have not reported results. However, I still have been receiving reports from other states through Worldometer. I will be continuing daily reports as long as the information is relevant.

State growth rates for July 15, 2023. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate 30 day average (the worst containment) are: US Virgin Islands (0.122) with 25,298 cases, New York (0.086) with 7,042,088 cases, Wisconsin (0.047) with 2,035,746 cases, Delaware (0.045) with 334,373 cases, and Puerto Rico (0.033) with 1,298,509 cases. US Virgin Islands has been in the top 5 states for 360 of the last 388 days. New York has been in the top 5 states for 238 of the last 283 days. Wisconsin has been in the top 5 states for 13 of the last 13 days. Delaware has been in the top 5 states for 33 of the last 33 days. Puerto Rico has been in the top 5 states for 88 of the last 93 days.

Several states have stopped posting new case and new death numbers. I will back calculate where possible. These Districts and states have not reported in the last 30 days or more: Alabama, Arkansas, California, District Of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Guam, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming, Veteran Affairs, US Military, Navajo Nation, and Federal Prisons.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.00219 for yesterday, down from previous day of 0.00323. This is not population or case number weighted. Yesterday, 54 states and territories did not report new cases.

Daily active case counts have been falling the last several weeks. There have been 351 of last 530 days with decreasing active case numbers. In the last weeks, the number of reported active cases has dropped below 1,000,000 for the first time since July 2021.

There have now been 107 million total cases of Covid-19 in the US. This is 32% of the total US population. Reinfections and under reporting will distort the total number of cases.

With new home tests widely available, new case counts are likely under counting the true number of active cases.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.00252 for yesterday, down from previous day of 0.00444. This is not population or case number weighted. Yesterday, 55 states and territories did not report new cases.

Daily active case counts have been falling the last several weeks. There have been 355 of last 536 days with decreasing active case numbers.

State growth rates for July 22, 2023. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate 30 day average (the worst containment) are: US Virgin Islands (0.226) with 25,325 cases, New York (0.087) with 7,045,378 cases, Wisconsin (0.056) with 2,036,662 cases, Delaware (0.055) with 334,466 cases, and Puerto Rico (0.031) with 1,304,466 cases. US Virgin Islands has been in the top 5 states for 367 of the last 395 days. New York has been in the top 5 states for 245 of the last 290 days. Wisconsin has been in the top 5 states for 20 of the last 20 days. Delaware has been in the top 5 states for 40 of the last 40 days. Puerto Rico has been in the top 5 states for 95 of the last 100 days.
