Posted this elsewhere, the metal work around the radiator opening was unique to his car.

Leo lived a few miles from me, WW II Tanker who wound up in Tokyo in October '45. Raced in the first Lime Rock event, finished 7th.
I don't remember if he ever said how long he had the Arnolt; he had an XK120 and a bunch of Volvos along the way, including the Amazon he sold me some years ago that just went to Richmond.
He and his father were dealers in precision machine tooling; he had a good size metal lathe in his basement that he had rebuilt himself.

<EDIT> I should add this was designed and engineered by the quiet, unassuming engineer of the McLaren MP4/4 Formula 1 car that went nearly undefeated and took Ayrton Senna to the World Championship - Steve Nichols. With this new car, he is channeling the original McLaren Group 7 Can Am car, the M1A.

This is the opposite of your new "supercar." It's raw, analog, open topped, and a blast to drive. LS-powered, 6-speed gated shifter, very lightweight and small, simple, fast. And street legal.

One Less Sprinter - HA!

This nice old Vanagon is near my neighborhood. I was on my bike, stopped to look and take a pic. Then I spotted the sticker in the side window.

Well, I've painted these wheels for the second time, after dropping wet wheels in the grass (see BLOOPER thread). I waited a week, sanded them by hand back to almost primer, and did three very light, very careful coats in perfect 70 degree weather.

They're as good as my skilz are gonna get. These wheels are 50+ years old, they have dents in the lips, they have weld splatter from getting banded. They're fine.

Didn't spot it until I heard it coming, sounded like it had the Abarth kit.
