hi neil there are quite a few uk online parts sellers that claim to do oe spec aftermarket spares but none know anything about what there selling,i am not sure where they source parts from but nearly all i have used end up sending gear made for left hand drive vehicles and of no use for rhd,i have a set of crystal headlamps from a uk seller both are made for lhd and beam deflectors have been made illegal here so there useless and trying to get a return and refund is beyond a joke, skandix are ok but most of what i needed was nla or out of stock.
hi neil im still waiting for the rings to come but did get the engine mounting done, eventually horrid neck pain and the damn thing is too awkward from the top,i did try and thought id sorted it then realised the last bolt did not line up,only to notice the thing had turned around and had to undo it,turn the bracket and do it all up again!question on the mounting is a wire which was hooked on am i meant to remove it? the old one was hooked on 1 side still?.
hi neil funny as my next door neighbour commented that there was much less swearing when im working on the volvo compared with the peugeot 406,hated that car but it just refused to die!im grumpy in the mornings mostly for about 20 minutes nothing a pipe and a cup of tea cant fixscot850 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2023, 12:13 If you are talking about the wire around the mount, it should be attached on both sides. It is a security wire should the rubber mount fail the engine won't shift. It should stay in place.
Stainless self tapper bolts are the way to go. Those studs are useless as they rust until the diameter no longer holds the plastic nuts in place.
Cut the remainder off and drill a hole and use a self tapping bolt and stainless washer and it should be good for years.
My wife says I am grumpy al the time, it just varies in the amount!![]()
