s80 2.9 2000 Volvo/sunroof will not open

Milage 80,000/sunroof will not open/any suggestions as to what the problem could be?

Have you checked the fuses?

Fuse 28 in the passenger compartment fuse box covers the sun roof, courtesy lights and vanity mirror lights. Fuse 34 in the same box covers the sun roof.

yes I have checked the fuse and that is not the problem. How difficult is it to checked the sunroof motor? Is it possible for the motor to have been ripped off. I ask because I had to have the cataylytic converter replace because it was stole while parked at a mechanics garage. (Supposedly)
