Where does this clip go?

Post by 02V70 »

I’m taking the radiator out of my 2002 v70 turbo, and as I was wrangling the radiator out, this clip fell down. What could it be for?

I’m going to put the new radiator in tomorrow, so I’m not yet sure if there are any screws that are not screwing.

Also, the o-ring and transmission line to radiator clip kit came with two black o-rings. The other o rings were the yellow ones going on the transmission line. What are the black ones for? Do I need them?
Here’s the kit: (the black o rings I had are green in the photo) https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... kit-504490

Just a guess but it looks like one of the 4 clips that holds the "radiator sandwich" together.. There should be 3 more like that one clipped on the inner most/engine side rad. Just a guess.
cheers

I found that it goes on the ac condenser, so that the bolt can hold the radiator and intercooler too it.

On big work, it’s common here to replace these with m6 stainless hardware for easier fire removal. Those metal parts near the hot radiator environment rust like the dickens
