Warranty is a good thing. Costco usually has a good warranty. My buddy just bought one for his Volvo P80 here in Canada, they come with a full 4 year warranty and then pro-rated after that.

I have always used Interstate as that is who Volvo has used up here to supply their batteries. I however upgrade to a higher CCA because of out winters here, but then I pay about the same as the 600 CCA unit from Volvo.

They are round speakers, but not sure the diameter.

I did a little reading on MVS about speakers since I also have two blown ones. People tried decent quality, name brand replacement speakers and said they sounded bad to terrible. They felt that the OEM speakers were designed for the car and designed to work with the other speakers, thus they are the best replacement.

Also, I read it was a little tricky to make the replacement speakers fit the OEM brackets. They would fit close but not close enough, requiring some cutting and drilling. For that amount of effort to get worse than OEM sound, I'd rather get used OEM.

I will be looking at junkyards or maybe eBay for a used pair of OEM front speakers. Almost every speaker is discontinued so I recommend stocking up.

For comparison, I spent 18 years with stock speakers connected to an Alpine headunit with small Alpine amp in my first 2000 V70. I felt that the sound quality was quite good, certainly not worth messing with. I didn't have the premium system, just the basics. I want that again in my current V70s.

Best and cheapest battery if you don’t want to spend a fortune is Walmart’s Everstart. Never had an issue with them. Have one from 2018 in my car - left a light on overnight, and killed it so dead it wouldn’t even read on a multimeter. Charged it up, and after that it still works like new. Had nothing but issues with the parts store batteries - I work at one of the big chains, and we get tons of batteries back defective from all the major chains that aren’t that old. If you are fine with spending money, the top end Interstate batteries are nearly unkillable and last forever. I bought my V50 with an Interstate over 5 years ago, and it’s still going strong. It was at least a year or two old when I got the car, and the Interstate I put in my Land Rover 3 years ago and abuse (winch, lights, and British electrical system with parasitic draw) is still like new as well.

Speakers - stock speakers are the way to go in these - aftermarket ones don’t seem to work well unless you spend the money to get something really nice. I have an extra or two in my parts car if you need one. Feel free to shoot me a PM.

If you want to upgrade, contact TheWhiteblockCompany on Instagram. They’ve made their own Dynaudio upgrade kit for P80 out of various Volvo Dynaudio cars and it sounds better than even the Bowers and Wilkins system in the new SPA cars.

I absolutely hate Walmart too, but they've got good batteries with solid warranties for like half the price of everywhere else. Kind of hard to ignore, even if you have to dodge crackheads to get one

I have always liked the P80 sound systems, from my 93 850 GLT and all the way through to my 00 V70R. The quality of the speakers and the fullness of sound, especially with an amp with any of the head units is really good.

It has got to the point where I now have a test rig I built with a full set of P80 wagon speakers that can be swapped in and out to test other speakers, Radio head units, amps and the connecting cables. No idea why I do this, as I have multiples of most speakers including almost a full set of C70 Dynaudio speakers (missing one small rear speaker), and the 200W ? amp. Why? No idea, just hate to see stuff scrapped!

I like to be able to check electrical stuff if possible so I know they are good.

At some point I will have to get around to moving it all on!! :o

Shop around. I replaced my h6 on Shagg last month and Walmart was $149, napa $129, advance was $119. I believe an H7 will fit into the stock space, the dimensions should be description.

NAPA is fantastically convenient to me , as in walkable , so I want to keep that store open
