Mileage check ways 1995 850 fenix 5.2

Hello,

I own the car over one year and I tryed like hundert times like crazy to read mileage from OBD I A7 port by the well known method. But after pressing the button five times the led won´t light up... Common problem I think. Are there two types of clusters from which one can´t be readed out on these pre-96 vehicles?

My cluster has damaged rpm-meter (rpm are at zero, than after one or two hours of driving it starts jumping and catches up and works until I turn off the engine and start again..). Can it be causing this issue with failing mileage read?

On other forum I read that someone jumps that OBD somehow and get the reading out of it. Has someone experience with this?

Is it possible to switch this instrument cluster to my 1996 850 and read it out through OBD II? Or is it stored in ECU of vehicle?

I believe your 95 should have the OBD1 port. There is a what to read from that if I recall using an led bulb and a couple of wires. Hopefully one of the guys who has done this can jump in and add there knowledge.
