Oh to be allowed to wash our cars in our driveway. In Calgary it is illegal to do that due to the stupid way they treat run-off it goes straight into the rivers un-treated.
Mind you, we currently have a water usage restrictions in effect. Hard to believe that near the Canadian mountains that would ever happen. Clearly nothing to do with the government releasing all the water from the reservoirs in case we got flooding in the spring..............!

I'm quite surprised a place the size of Calgary has no storm sewer system.

Those are some rusty camshafts there, son.abscate wrote: ↑07 Sep 2023, 04:16 Zion, two small c clamps mid head will draw down the head easily. I actually prefer this method as I don’t like having spark plug holes open once the head is on. Once the head is down, eight bolts into the number 2 and number 4 cylinders will hold it down fine. Then zip in the other 35.

We had a couple of weeks of sunshine in June and we were told not to water our gardens and limit our use of car washing with hosepipes. By the time the schools closed for summer holidays in July the rain was back and all restrictions were forgotten about. We have never had a hosepipe ban in Scotland, it's been threatened a couple of time but never came to anything, it's just too wet here

I once as a young man with my first house decided to grab a bunch of sheets of 1/4" Hardie tile backer board from the "Depot" and strap it onto the Yakima bars on the 240 wagon. It seemed pretty stiff as a stack and I really strapped it. I had never used it so didn't know how brittle it was.
But...the wind catches it and it flutters and several sheets ripped right off at the straps. I must have looked silly. I know I looked silly.

Wow that's packin a lot of wood there (ha ha ha).
I didn't know it was coming up here i'll have to check on that.
It appears that there is no official report on the path this far up around our area. It looks like it is still way down near PR.
I don't think the models are that accurate when it is that far away. Maybe check on the Eu model next.
Date and time here: 09/07/23 about 7:30pm ET.
I'll keep an eye on it. If it hits land before it gets here we might just get some rain. Better to be prepared though.
Some of them turn out to sea before they get here (hooray).
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.
1998 v70, non turbo, FWD, base model, on the road from April 2nd, 2015 to July 26, 2023.
