I was looking at other vehicles to buy and ran across something incredible. I have had my eye on a Honda CR-V. Trans options on them in US are 5sp auto, 5sp manual. On Wikipedia, it listed a 6sp manual as an option in other markets. Blown away by this, I searched and found a forum where multiple Honda K24 5sp manual owners had discovered they could replace a spacer in the transmission, where 6th gear was suppose to go, to add 6th gear parts. They did the swap and it ran perfectly with better fuel mileage.
With that said, who on here has had their p80 5sp apart and seen the inside of the p2 6sp manual housing? Whats the difference in trans housing between the p80 5sp and the p2 6sp? Could a 6th gear be added to the 5sp?
