2011 XC60 Rear Trailing arm Bushing removal tool

Post by xyourobob »

My daughters XC60 needs a rear trailing arm bushing replaced, we can't find someone in the Charlotte area that will replace the bushings without removing the trailing arm, they all want to replace the entire trailing arm. All in all it's pretty pricey, so I'm going to head to Charlotte and do it myself. I purchased the bushing and I have been shopping for the tool, it appears if it was an XC60 with a Ford platform, there are plenty of them priced reasonably. But I'm not convinced my Volvo has the Ford platform, how do I confirm that? Otherwise, they are $300 - $500, I already have enough one time use tools in my tool box and I'm hoping someone on here will consider renting me their bushing replacement tool for this vehicle.

I ended up buying 2 trailing arms that came off a salvage vehicle on Ebay for $80 each, I'll figure out how to remove and install the bushings in the comfort of my garage. Then I'll just drive down and swap them out.
