For the wooden boat crowd ( yes, I have had several ), this one was purpose-built in '03, said to be used as a test article for the owners marine engine company.

I doubt it will make reserve.
Feed enough horsepower to something that floats and it stops being a boat. The idea that a Gentleman of great wealth can go for a quick afternoon spin on Lake Tahoe with the throttle on the stops and not turn it into toothpicks is lunacy.
I was on a course safety boat on June 19, 1966 during the Presidents' Cup races on the Potomac. 3 drivers died that day, all behind one of these engines.
Water is unforgiving at speed.

I always thought they sat kind of strange, and the early ones had lots of wood.
Some conflict in the comments whether the B30 powered examples are more rare than the Triumph .

Wow, what a shape.

We used to watch (and listen to) the big Allisons in the hydroplanes in Seattle. Wow, they were something. But they flipped.

You don’t see those around!
A little bit of low and a bit more wheel and that thing is sweet.
