V70R 04 Rough first drive when fired up

Post by jakebvrs »

Hello all, I have a 04 v70r that starts up fine, but when I drive the car, when I first start it up, it doesn't let me drive the vehicle past five mph and doesn't go over 2k rpm. But when I put my foot down on the gas, it'll stop making that puttering noise, and the car will finally start, and it'll go usually, but it'll shift weirdly at first and still have problems. I get the anti-skid light on, and brake assist is required. I replaced the wheel speed sensor on the left side already. I will be scanning once I get my scan tool back because I am at college as of right now.

The symptoms you described, such as limited speed and RPM, along with the puttering noise, could indicate a problem with the engine's performance or a potential issue with the transmission. The presence of the anti-skid light and the requirement for brake assist could suggest a problem with the vehicle's stability control system or ABS.

the BCM can send a shift delay signal to the TCM if the ABS system senses a mismatch between front wheel speeds.
again, its best to get the codes read before loading the parts cannon.
this is just one possibility.
