Bars Leak has been around for at least 40+ years in the UK. I think I may even have a bottle in my chemicals cabinet that followed me over here! It was designed for older less complex vehicles for radiator leaks and heater core leaks. It did actually work, but not sure if I want to use it other than a last resort on a car not worth fixing!

Yup, these chemicals are "last resort" types of things. I never recommend using them.
Although, I DID actually use K-seal on the cooling system in my old Mercury Mountaineer with a water pump leak I didn't care enough to fix... and it worked. It was an old Ford 5.0 V8 with a rusty, nasty cooling system, so I figured why not try it.

Executive review of snake oil remedies
Seal leaks...if your rear main seL, power steering rack is seeping , defined as a drop or two overnight parked, a can of sealer product might work. If you have a puddle, it likely won’t work
Cooling system ..same as above , a seep yes, a flow, no
Air conditioner ..don’t use this stuff on P80 office systems. You won’t plug an evaporator leak and are much more likely to plug the narrow orfice tube
And...using these to cover up a leak for a sale will earn you a transmission failure in heavy rain on the upper deck of the BQE

hi all well it seems my car is truly possessed and even the mot station cannot exorcise the evil one(abs warning light) passed on all but the evil thing.
so far i have
replaced broken rusty reluctor rings on front and fitted 2 new front speed sensors.
cleaned and tested rear sensors, rings look good, tested at junction in the rear compartment and again at main abs module connections all read as expected.
fitted recon abs pump from good german supplier
fitted tested and warranted abs module
thoroughly bled system,good brake pedal.
checked and cleaned all fuses.
replaced abs relay.
removed and tested brake position sensor using ohm meter which rises from 1ohm through to 8 ohm when manually operated which i think means it is working?(it is the one on the booster under master cylinder)
i did try the ignition key wiggle but it seems to be very good and no obvious fault.
i have tried everything and no garage will help as they cannot just plug in obd2 please can anyone help, what else is there that will trigger the evil one?what am i missing?marbles maybe.....?

Last resort, have you asked a Volvo dealer if they can still scan these older cars? Some of the older dealerships may still have the equipment to do so. Although, on the -95 with the under-hood self-diagnostics, I'm not sure what was available that far back.

hi neil i have looked and she has no obd2 ports and i did contact several volvo dealers but there all too chicken to even look if they cant plug it in and have a computer tell them they have zero interest in helping,im going to explore the bake position sensor tomorrow and see if theres anything obvious inside like on some threads i have read here seemingly has worked soldering something in the position sensor, cant find a new one its this no 9140235 funny i went on the who can fix my car website and posted it as a job and got one single reply from a local indy whom i know will not have a clue as there all young lads with computers not able to diagnose anything useful yet will still charge £75 to not plug it in and tell you they cant fix it either!if that sensor ends up just needing soldering and fixes it i wont even be cross at the expense of the other bits and at worse i have the removed pump/module/relay etc as spares,i got ten days to figure it out or have to pay again for mot, cheers

I wish you luck! I have not worked on a -95 850 on those issues other than the wheel sensors and the ABS module and speed sensor.

'04 V70 LH low beam burned out. Bulb connector toast. Green wire terminal still OK. Black wire terminal not OK. Crimped on an insulated spade connector. Connected both to new bulb, Hella H7LL. Ordered a high heat connector from RockAuto. Any suggestions on bulbs that produce less heat and won't trigger the bulb failure warning? (I rarely drive at night.)
